The Portland Lions Club will be conducting FREE KidSight Vision Screenings on Tuesday, January 14, and Wednesday, January 15, from 10:00-12:00. The Lions are focusing on reaching children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years, as vision problems undectected by the age of 7 can become permanent. 

The Lions Club uses a Welch Allyn Spot auto-photo refraction device that is touchless and screens for the following: amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye misalignment), myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism (blurred vision), and anisometropia (unequal refractive power). The Lions do not store any personal information per HIPPA requirements. The device provides immediate and meaningful results and are available within minutes. Parents and caregivers will receive a printed copy of the results.
