Winter Seed Sowing – Native Perennials

Garden Program with Master Gardener Lynn Keller & co-sponsored by the Portland River Valley Garden Club in the Mary Flood Room
Fall and winter are the best times to sow native seeds.  Many native seeds, including milkweed, need to have a winter period of cold, moist temperatures to break dormancy and germinate.  In this hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to plant a variety of native perennial seeds which will be ready for transplanting in the spring and early summer. Please bring an empty milk jug or container to bring your plantings home.  Registration Required!
